MET's Ramadhan 1439 Quran Memorization Contest

This competition is open to all children in the community entering grades 1 thru 12 in 2017-18, as well as college students and adults, each within their designated category.

10th Annual Community-wide MET Quran Contest:

We are pleased to announce details of MET's 10th Annual Community-wide MET Quran Contest scheduled on Saturday, June 2, in shaa Allah. Children in 1st-12th grade during the current school year of 2017-2018 will compete in their memorization and understanding of the following Surahs of the Holy Quran:


1st-5th Grade in 2017-18:
Level 1:  Chapter 19: Surah Ad-Dukhanسورة الدخان
Level 2:  Chapter 38: Surah Ar-Rahman سورة الرحمن
Level 3:  Chapter 49: Surah Al-Qalam سورة القلم


6th-12th Grade in 2017-18:
Level 1:  Chapter 8: Surah Yusuf سورة يوسف
Level 2: Chapter 22: Surah Al-Furqaan سورة الفرقان
Level 3: Chapter 35: Surah Luqmaan سورة لقمان


College Students and Adults:
Level 1:  Chapter 23: Surah An-Nahl سورة النحل


Quran Contest Prizes:

There will be 3 winners at each level for each age group as follows:


Level 1:
1st Prize: $150
2nd Prize: $100
3rd Prize: $75

Level 2:
1st Prize: $100
2nd Prize: $75
3rd Prize: $50

Level 3:
1st Prize: $75
2nd Prize: $50
3rd Prize: $30


As you can see, within 1st-12th grade, there are three levels for each age group. When registering your child for this contest, please make sure to clearly indicate the surah(s) in which s/he will be competing. Please note that children may compete in their memorization and understanding of more than one surah within their grade level.

May Allah, the Most Gracious, enlighten the hearts and minds of our children and youth with the love of God and His Prophet, and make them live by the timeless teachings of the Holy Quran and the great example of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him, ameen.

Important Registration Guidelines:

You may register up to three siblings on one form. Registration form needs to be completed and turned in or faxed to the MET Office no later than Friday, May 25, 2018.

Late entries AND changes in levels or surahs in which a child is participating will NOT be accepted past this date.

When filling out the registration form, please make sure to give or decline permission for photo and video footage.

Winners will be announced by MET by email within 48 hours of the contest.

We look forward to a great contest, and more importantly to a better understanding and memorization of the Holy Quran on part of our children and youth, inshaa'Allah.
