About OMY (Oregon's Muslim Youth)
Back in December 2010 and in honor of all mothers, the MET Board of Directors launched Oregon's Muslim Youth (OMY أمي, meaning "my mother" in Arabic). OMY is a youth enrichment, engagement, and mentorship program, aimed to help youth find their passion, serve their community, and pursue their dreams. OMY programs provide a critical platform towards positively integrating youth and their families to be an added value to the communities in which they live while staying true to their identities and positively engaging in the public square. OMY programs serve to empower youth and their families by making important opportunities available to them that will help support their self-growth and develop their compassionate leadership skills in the areas of bridge-building dialogue, faith-based community service, and stewardship of Earth and humanity. Such programs include our Youth Ambassadors Club, "giving you hope wherever you are," special elective classes, including speech, tutoring, sports, and various bowls, bees, and competitions of interest to the youth.
Sincerely,
Muslim Educational Trust
