Please join us on Saturday, April 29th 2017 for an informative Lecture titled "History of Ancient Sudan - Nubia". Our Keynote Speaker is Dr. Abd-ElMoneim Dalouk, Assistant Professor of Sudanese Studies - Ahfad University for Women. Dr. Dalouk will review the history of ancient Sudan with a focus on Nubia and the Kingdom of Kush. He will also address old stone age (Paleolithic age), new stone age (Neolithic age), Kingdom of Kush, Kingdom of Kerma that includes the civilizations of Kerma, Napta and Meroe; the Christian Era, Islamic Era of Funj and Mahadiya Era. This presentation is in the field of Folklore specifically in the area of "Material Culture" during the above mentioned time era and civilizations.

Dr. Abd-Elmoneim is an assistant professor of Sudanese Studies at Ahfad University for Women. Before his life as an assistant professor, Dr. Dalouk worked as the art director at Al Sahafa Printing and Publishing House and Newspaper and Al Ayyam Newspaper. Dr. Dalouk has earned his Ph.d. of Philosophy in Folklore from the University of Khartoum in Sudan, his M.A. in "Visual Communication in the Awareness of the Reproductive Health" from Sudan University of Science and Technology, a higher degree in Humanities, and his B.A. in Graphic Communications. He has published several books and articles in his areas of study and he splits his time between Sudan and the U.S. with his wife.
