It is narrated that Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه  The best among you is s/he who learns the Quran and teaches it to others.

Whoever reads the Quran skilfully is in the companionship of the honorable angels, and whoever experiences hardship reading the Quran earns double the reward. [Sahih Muslim and Sahih Bukhari] 40

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ - سورة القمر آية  And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand, recite, and remember. Quran [54:40]

About the MET Quran and Arabic Studies Institute

Quran Studies: In an effort to develop a well-structured, disciplined, and hands-on Quran Memorization program, MET launched the MET Quran Institute in Fall 2013. The academy will administer vigorous Quran memorization classes, complete with tajweed and knowledge of tajweed rules. Teachers and coordinators of the program are certified Quran educators who are hafidh حافظ of the Holy book and have Ijaazah إجازة in the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran. This program is open to youth and adults, and groups will be divided based on age and ability following an assessment by our teachers. Students will meet twice a week and must commit to a daily memorization and review schedule of their assigned verses and/or chapters. Progress made by each student will depend on their individual ability, ambition, and commitment to completing this wonderful journey toward attaining this milestone of becoming a hafidh حافظ or a hafidha حافظة. Exploring the Quran through Tajweed is also an option for older students, where emphasis is placed upon proper reading and enunciation with tajweed.

The Arabic Language Studies program teaches Arabic as a second language to both native and non-native speakers. Assessment is conducted at the end of each term and students are recognized for their achievement.
